Antenatal Classes
Are an important part of birth preparation for women in the third trimester. They focus on maternity hospital policies and procedures, labour, birth and how to look after a baby. These classes promote confidence in meeting the challenges of childbirth, breast feeding and parenting skills. Presented by midwives in a caring and supportive manner, either privately or in the maternity hospitals around Ireland. Best to book into these classes early as they do fill up.
Antenatal Pregnancy Yoga & Pilates
Great for tone and flexibility during pregnancy along with strengthening your core and learning breathing exercises in preparation for labour and birth. Best to start classes from week 14 on. You will participate in a range of gentle movements and postures that will help support and strengthen your muscle tone. These antenatal exercises will help you and your body prepare for the birth of your baby, and the breathing and relaxation exercises will help you conserve your energy.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic care is health maintenance of the spinal column that is very beneficial before, during and after pregnancy and is an important part of birth preparation that helps keep the spine aligned for safer, easier birthing for both mothers and their babies. As your pregnancy progresses you will gain weight and the load to your spine becomes unbalanced causing pain and discomfort. The treatments reduce spinal nerve stress and enhance your health and wellbeing through pregnancy.
Counselling Support
To those of you who maybe experiencing confusion and mixed feelings around getting pregnant, or need support around unplanned pregnancy. Or if you're pregnant and are experiencing; stress and fears of pregnancy, anxiety towards the birth, depression, coping skills, relationship issues or any problems after pregnancy, parenting skills, your future.
Experienced a past traumatic birth that still lives with you. It's never too late to seek help!
Doula - Birth and Postnatal Specialist care
Provide practical support through pregnancy; before, during and after birth by providing information, physical assistance, and emotional support as you journey into parenthood. Doula's will assist with you and empower you month by month, supporting you emotionally, guiding you as you prepare for the birth of your baby. Birth Doula's also can support you in hospital with your birth, however, they do not perform clinically or give medical advice.

Herbs help improve; health, balance and energy levels, helping to maintain a healthy pregnancy for mother and baby and to ease the journey and changes and increased demands on a mother's body along with supporting you through childbirth preparation and help with milk production too. Homebirth
An acceptable and safe alternative to a planned hospital birth for low-risk healthy women, provided by the HSE, Home Birth Association of Ireland and Self-Employed Community Midwives. Full antenatal care through pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal care. This is for you if you dislike hospitals, and would prefer to be more in control of your birth in a homely environment, free from hospital intervention.
